Dedicated Voice Dictation

Speech-to-Text (STT) Dictation

Transcribe spoken audio directly into text in real time with zero server delay using the SpeechRecognition Web API. Benchmark your Japanese pronunciation, test your conversational fluency, and take hands-free voice notes effortlessly.

Continuous Auto-Restart

Keeps dictation active through conversational pauses. When browsers automatically stop recognition on silence, our engine resumes listening instantly.

Live Interim Results

Watch predicted words stream in live italic feedback before sentence boundaries are confirmed, providing immediate visual confirmation as you speak.

Pronunciation Benchmark

Compare recognized text against target sentences. If the recognizer misinterprets a word, it highlights syllables where your articulation may need refinement.

Guide: Achieving High Recognition Accuracy in Japanese

1. Maintain Steady Mora Timing

Japanese is a mora-timed language. Rather than stressing specific syllables, maintain equal duration for each kana character (including small 'っ' sokuon and prolonged vowels 'ー'). Speech recognition models rely heavily on this rhythmic consistency.

2. Clear Particle Separation

Ensure particles like は (wa), を (o), に (ni), and で (de) are voiced clearly without trailing off or blurring into adjacent words. Clean word boundaries make parsing syntactic chunks significantly more reliable.

3. Microphone Placement & Noise

Position your microphone 10-15 cm from your mouth and minimize ambient background chatter or fan noise. Built-in laptop microphones often perform best when input gain is calibrated to 70–80%.

4. Browser Recommendation

The W3C SpeechRecognition standard is most natively integrated in Chromium engines (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave) and Apple Safari. If you encounter permission dialogs, be sure to grant microphone access in your browser address bar.
